Gary Jacobsson is a professional Personal Chef, the owner of A Healthy Alternative and a premier member of the United States Personal Chef Association.
His love of cooking started at a very early age when his grandmother encouraged him to help prepare dinner. When he was just 11 years of age he was preparing meals for his parents and knew his love of food would become a life-long pursuit and passion. Chef Gary has taken countless cooking classes and has acquired a wealth of knowledge about food and food preparation.
In his late twenties Gary hit the first of several emotional bottoms and began a journey into self-healing, discovery and well-being. In 2002 he became a Certified Ayurvedic Practioner upon graduation from the California College of Ayurveda located in Grass Valley, California. There, under the guidance of Dr. Marc Halpren, he learned to look at food with new eyes, understanding how the foods we eat affect us emotionally and physically. His work took on a holistic approach as he recognized a serious need to bring fresh, healthy, home-cooked meals back into peoples' lives.
Nothing brings Chef Gary more joy than to see the smiles and hear the delight of people who are enjoying great food. He believes food is one thing that connects everyone, and it is often the focal point at celebrations, special occasions, and relaxed get-togethers.
In the summer of 2002 he graduated from the United States Personal Chef Association. He wanted to work with people one on one and know that he was making a difference by bringing back quality into their lives. Chef Gary loves what he is doing today -- preparing home cooked food for families, busy singles, affluent seniors and people on the go who just don’t have the time to cook.
Home-made meals have one ingredient that can’t be bought. That ingredient is “love” -- food made with love just tastes better and is better for you. Through holistic eyes, everything is energy and the energy of the person preparing your food is going into that meal. This is something to think about, especially if you eat out a lot.
Chef Gary continues to expand his culinary expertise through cooking classes around the area. Gary is also Safe Serve Certified through the state of California and the California Restaurant Association. It is important to know proper food handling and temperatures of certain foods not only for the safety of the public but for yourself too.
Chef Gary has continued to expand his consciousness and awareness in the Self Healing Arts.
In 2005 he hit another emotional bottom that was much deeper than the first. "Even after 10 years on a spiritual path I still felt so unhappy and dissatisfied with my life. I felt like everything I was doing and had done was just a band-aid and nothing was really getting to the core of the issue to allow me to feel my well-being, my joy," he explains.
Then Chef Gary stumbled upon C.M.R. (Cellular Memory Release). He found that C.M.R. really helped him to uncover, discover, and discard thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors that were no longer serving him. C.M.R. took his self discovery process to a much deeper level.
In 2007, Chef Gary became a Certified C.M.R. Facilitator and now works with others. “Our beliefs or how we feel about ourselves is a huge part about why we can’t loose weight or why we stay stuck in certain negative patterns in our lives," he explains. "When we are willing to go within and see what’s inside of ourselves at the deepest levels of our being only then can true healing take place. It’s not about being spiritual or good, it’s about being authentic and real."
“I look forward to sharing a culinary experience with you soon.”
